Aftercare: Root canal treatment
A few simple notes for the days after treatment. Keep this page.
Don’t eat until the numbness wears off.
Mild pain or tenderness for a few days is normal; take painkillers as directed on the pack or by the doctor.
Until the final filling or crown, don’t bite hard things on that side — the tooth can crack.
Swelling, fever or pain that keeps getting worse: call the same day.
